Rookie mistake. Tried waxing my boat and used to bark of polish. Made a mess at the water line. How do I fix?

    Easy $2 fix

    The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner

The polish stuck to minerals/grime attached to the hull.

Be careful not to let is sit on unpainted metal or it will discolor it.

Wear gloves and eye protection. Wipe it on with your car wash broom and rinse off before it dries.

I would suggest doing one side at a time.

Once you get all that gunk cleaned off I really like Turtle Wax Ice, use it on everything I own leaves NO white residue on anything and seems to last forever. It has been 18 months since I did my dually and water beads like I just waxed it.

I have not been able to find the Works in months. Let me know if you know where to get it

If you can not find the Works, try a 540/50 mix of vinegar and water in spray bottle.Spray it on and wipe with a microfiber cloth. Been using this for a few years now and it cleans all the gunk off.

Dawn dish soap will strip the wax right off fiberglass. That’s what I wash the boat with before reapplying wax.

The Works and other toilet bowl cleaners are good for hard water spots on the metal portions of the motor, transom, and tilt-trim.

A 3 gallon bucket of very warm water, boat soap, and about two cups of white vinegar is the standard go-to for cleaning the boat. I bet by doubling or tripling the vinegar content, it would take this right off.

You need to use a hull cleaner first and then wax.
