Put on a lot of miles sat. and found every lake in southern Mn. west to fairmont froze solid. Most up to two inches and some fishable. Did find some ducks and geese. We need a quick thaw to hold some birds to field hunt. I`m afraid the diver hunting on the lakes may be done. How`s the river accesses? Backwaters froze up? Flip

Let’s just say the morning hunt yesterday was a little surprising to see the backwaters frozen as tight as they were. In order to be successful you needed to be closer to water that was moving. Outstanding numbers of waterfowl in the area.

We`ll when a guy runs into a hard water problem. The next best thing is a good old field hunt. OOOH boy did we smack em today. Even though my gun barrel must have been drove over by the truck we managed a limit. Don`t think they were the nice BIG greenies from way up yet, but there were a bunch of em. Hit them again tomarrow afternoon. What a blast!
