That’s correct. Although you can view the pic from your e-mail, the pic probably exists on a mail server outside your computer. Typically, if you right click on the pic and select save, you can pick the location to save your photo. The default on many computers is “My Pictures”.

Did anyone else go out today? We went out for a few hours this morning but with zero wind and warm temps we had no shots. We did se some flying but they seemed like they new where they wanted to be and it wasn’t our decoys. It was nice wearing shorts under my waders though.

I am really optimistic with what we saw today. Tyler dropped 2 hen mallards in short order at around 6:30. After that I held him back on mallards in fear of shooting another hen. The blue and green teal were present and all escaped but one green wing. Tyler had a great opportunity at a goose (slow, cupped and out front) that he missed. He was a little upset with himself for missing. We also saw a TON of wood ducks.

In all Tyler was able to pull the trigger 22 times (3 left in box). It was a really good day for us.

Great smile there on the boy… Just wondering did you lose one of the hens, cause one of them in the picture sure looks like a drake to me. Even some of us that are more skilled in shooting miss them easy chip shots on cupped birds

There was no hint of green on the heads nor any curly tail feathers. I’m only a fair weather fowler, so I may not have identified correctly.

Great post and great to see the kids getting out waterfowling.

FWIW, I too think that bird with the greenish/yellowish bill is actually a drake, just not showing any plumage yet.

Yup easy to do, with the late hatch it will be difficult to identify drakes through the first 2 weeks of the season on the birds that hatched this spring. The one closest to the teal.. Cant see the bill on the other bird. Hens have a orange bill with black dots, and the drakes more of a yellow green bill

FWIW, looking at all of our local ducks, very few have at least half of a green head. Most only have a small strip on the top.
