I don’t think I have room in my boat for one.

I’ll try to get a pic of him this weekend, but we got a goose who is missing all the feathers around his neck, probably 4 inches worth. He just sits out in the fairway by a sprinkler head that leaks. He’s looking pretty poor, although he moved OK when I drove up to him last night. I’m a bit surprised he has been banned from the 20+ living 100 yards from there.

Will those feathers grow back? He’s in for a tough winter if not.

It’s hard to say if they will grow back. If he has mites or something affecting the feather growth/ retention, prolly not, but it he got caught in something and they just wore off trying to get out, then they might come back during the molt. Is it a young goose or a mature one?

It’s probably a 2 year old goose. Not young of the year for sure, but he’s not very big. I’ll keep an eye on him and to see how he does.

He may have an issue with his throat on the inside as well and can’t eat and swallow well causing him to be mal-nurished

If he goes downhill, I’d normally just do what is needed. However, living where I do I’ll have to call someone. We do have enough coyote and fox around mother nature may just do her job.

Meant to report back. This guy has disappeared from the course. We have enough mink and coyote running around I imagine something got him in his weakened state.
