This last trip to Canada Dad, 75 years old, decided it was time for a new blind. The one he has now has no structure in the doors so in windy condition you need both hands to hold the doors closed.

I am looking for a new one for him that is comfortable, plenty roomy, easy to get in and out of, good stuble straps and is fairly low profile. The low profile is not as important as we can dig it in a little for him. The main things are easy access for an older gentleman and comfort/spacious. Thanks for any help!

In my opinion the Avery finishers are the best all around blind. I think we have about 8 of them. They are easy to get in and out of. They have full frame doors. The Avery M2 might be another one to look at. It has a lot more interior room.

Thanks, I own a finisher myself and had it with on the trip. It was ok comfort wise, but didn’t have the interior room he wants. I will check on M-2

I just bought a new one on line a couple weeks ago from Rogers Sporting Goods.

I bought the goose buster XL $190 and the spring board $40.

I am really looking forward to using this blind, it was easy to assemble and VERY roomy. I wasn’t sure about the spring board back rest but bought it anyways to try it.

It made the blind WAY more comfortable because it contours to your back. It isn’t actually a spring board so not sure why they call it that but the contour acts like a spring and you can pop up unbelievably fast to shoot.

I have a Final Approach Pro Guide XL that I have been using for years but wanted something that would fold up a bit and be easier to carry.

The goosebuster is roomier, lower profile(which one would think contradicts roomier but it doesn’t), better built, better fabric, thicker bottom material that is actually tubbed so it looks like you could lay it in close to 4″ of water and stay dry.

I can’t believe I was on the fence about buying it. I might buy another before Rogers figures out they could sell this blind for $300. It is WAY better than my final approach that was almost $300.

Before you buy anything I would definitely check out Rogers.

Buckshot, how are the stubble straps on that blind? Are there enough? Do they hold up well? That looks like a great blind with good reviews! Appreciate the help!

The stubble straps seem to be looser than the FA so they may not retain stubbling as well but the camo pattern being max4 is far superior than the FA I have but it is a few years old.

I haven’t stubbled the new blind yet so I can’t say for sure but it seems like there are plenty of straps.

No mater what blind he gets he should get the spring board too…..it was night and day difference in comfort and being able to sit up.

I always stick a boat cushion under the back rest of my FA to give me some lower back support and increase the comfort. With the spring board that won’t be necessary….it is absolutely worth the $40.

I am heading home I will see if I can get a couple pics and take a closer look.

Took some pics so you can see the 2 side by side.

The FA even collapsed is the same foot print, it doesn’t fold up at all which isn’t a big deal if you have a long bed truck or hunting trailer and can drive to your spot. It sucks to carry/drag it if you need to hoof it in some where.

You can also see how the Rogers is tubbed like I said in my previous post.

There are 4 rows of stubble straps on the Rogers, up the sides and on to the doors and of course I didn’t count the FA but pretty sure there are 4 there as well.

They look very similar in size sitting next to each other but the Rogers definitely has more room…not sure how looking at them side by side but after lying in both of them the Rogers absolutely has more interior space.

Like I said…I can’t believe I was hesitant to buy it now that I have it in front of me. On line is always a little scary with stuff like this because the pics look great but you just don’t know until you have it in front of you.

I hope this helps you in your decision.

huh…lookin at the pics I should have found a spot with less leaves. The camo on my FA would work great in the front yard if I could hunt geese there.

I have ordered several things from Rogers and their own name brand stuff seems to be very good quality.

I thought you’d like the springboard, that thing is sweet!!
