Ya Guys, I know what your saying. A guys got to have a few ice cubes in his viens to do this but i like that kind of stuff. We use to go out on the ice on the miss. at 1:00 in the morning at 20 below and wait for the ice breaking tugs to go by just to watch the ice roll infront of the tow. We’ed bring our poles and fish through 16 inches of ice just to kill time waiting for the barges. Walk hunting pheasants at 20 below with 25 mile an hour winds for 6 miles just to get out of the house and have some fun. It makes me think more of full fur clothing, must be why i like the thought. Lol,, live life at its fullest!

I REALLY GET A KICK OUT OF THE WIDE RANGE OF ANSWERS AND COMMENTS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT. STARTED DUCK HUNTING WITH MY DAD WENT TO GARAGE SALES TO BUY DECOYS AND MOWED LAWNS FOR SHELL MONEY. I DON’T THINK STARTING OUT WOULD BE A WHOLE LOT DIFFERENT NOW. YOU WOULDN’T BELIEVE THE BLOCKS WE SET OUT. ANYTHING FROM CEDAR BLOCKS TO SOME KINDA CARD BOARD THINGS. THEY WORKED TO. WE WENT TO DUCK HEAVEN WHEN GRAMPA BOUGHT US OUR FIRST MODEL 72 HERTERS DECOYS. CANVASBACK STYLE. WE STILL HAVE THEM. WE HUNTED FROM SHORE AT FIRST THEN GRADUATED TO 2 CANVAS WRAPPED DUCK BOATS. WISHED I HAD THEM BACK!!! THEY WERE FULL OF HOLES BUT WE PATCHED THEM UP WITH A FIBERGLASS REPAIR KIT FROM HERTERS. THEY WERE SO LIGHT AND ROWED SO EASY AND FLOATED IN ALMOST NOTHING FOR WATER.
BUT EVENTUALLY DRAINAGE TOOK OUR SPOTS IN PLACE FOR CORN FIELDS AND FREEWAYS AND WE HAD TO TRAVEL FURTHER AND FURTHER. NOW ALL THE DECOYS SIT WITH LOTS OF MEMORIES STORED INSIDE THEM.November 5, 2003 at 2:05 am #280804I REALLY GET A KICK OUT OF THE WIDE RANGE OF ANSWERS AND COMMENTS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT.
