Monday was going to be the first day I was going to be able to get out duck hunting. The season here is closed that week.

seriously…. Stinks! Our River Zone in WI is also. I am all for a first wknd in Oct – First wknd in Dec like it used to be…. They keep messing with it. I mean it is what it is, but only advantage of this early season is for teal, which in my opinion I would rather wait, have no split and have more “big birds” around.. I rather em make it later, breaking ice, 10 below!!! Very few hunters (which is why they never will), but also late obviously there are birds with better plumage.
