Fast and furious on opening day. First year without my dog and a new partner that got a new gun. Never shot it, never hunted ducks in her life. She shot six birds in the face within a half hour of opening Saturday. Amazing. Birds everywhere. Best opener in years. Day two was just as good. Mixed it up a little with some wood ducks. Can’t wait for this weekend.
I live in the swamp-literally. My home is on the river. My advice if you didn’t see birds last weekend- move. I rarely hunt the same place two days in a row. Birds move so should you. Quit complaining about the guy that’s too close to you and barking about their sky busting,get off your keister and move to new ground. I promise you will have better shooting. Best place to shoot ducks is in the face.

Yeah, IDK today we hunted about 1.5 miles from where we did yesterday. Still Looked great before first shot,Plenty of Ducks around picking up from their roost, but didn’t come back. One of only a couple times I have ever seen that happen. Too much pressure, Then ran for 2 hrs after we cleaned up, we checked many areas, WI and MN Water, wasn’t what I had hoped for, did not find anything exciting. We will see, see how tmrw am goes.
