Well the season regs are out. I like what I see with the exception of the fact that the geese at least here in SE Mn. dont get a break from hunting pressure in Mid Dec. like we have had in the past. I like that it is open until after Christmas but closes before New years

I see that stupid law about vegitation concealing the boat for open water is still there. Darn it, no lay out boats in open water.

i dont mind the season splits and the addition of the 3rd zone last year. what baffles me tho, is why they take a zone(mississippi river subzone), a zone which has open water typically later than the rest of wi, and open it a week earlier? im a cold weather guy, ide rather have a week at the end of the season. but to cater to all of the warm weather teal woodie and mosquito swatters, i see opening early and closing for a longer split. what i dont get is why they chose JUST the mississippi subzone to do this and not the entire southern half. do we have teal and woodies and the rest of wisconsin dosent? all this does is get even more guys coming to the river to hunt our first week and then they have their own opener a week later. like i said i do not mind the split, but dont understand why its just the miss subzone. with honkers, the miss subzone stays open much longer than the rest of wi. dnr=
