Spinoff from my other post in the hunting gear forum…

I’m looking at some shotguns for my son for a potential waterfowl hunt next fall. Thinking a semi-auto 20 gauge would be very nice mainly for the recoil reduction that it has to offer.

    Lots of options…. The Weatherby’s SA-8 looks nice… http://www.weatherby.com/product/shotguns/sa_08/sa08_sytheticyouth

It has a 12.5″ LOP, vs most others are 13″. A shorter LOP might be very nice.

Just need to go and shoulder a few.

Anyone have any opinions?…. Or has anyone shot the SA-8?

When my wife was first getting in to waterfowling I bought her a Beretta 20ga, light and not much kick and she loved it. Once I had her hooked on waterfowling we got her and Extrema2. I put a bunch of rounds through the 20 shooting trap and it is a great gun.
It kills geese…just gotta bring’em in nice and close.
