    Redneck:

I have a friend of mine who is in Pettibone right now. They will be there all week. Looking forward to talking to him as we will be in Harvey just 45 miles to the north and a little west. We have a host and some friends who have hunted there in the past. Where did you find most of your ducks (N,W,S,E of Pettibone)?

    Mbenson,

The group I was with just returned yesterday. The 2nd leg of the trip was in the harvey area. I heard they shot the crap out of ducks, but geese were scarce. I guess they started coming into the area on Sunday.

    Mark,
We were hunting a little south and west of Pettibone. The ducks were moving around some but there was a large concentration about 10 or 15 miles north of Tappen on the road going into Tappen. It seemed to vary from day to day. If they ever get the corn picked it could move the ducks around alot but so far most of the corn is still in the fields. There are alot of greenheads in the area. We did find that the larger flocks seemed to decoy in better to a little larger decoy spread. We put out 4 or 5 dozen mallards and it seemed to turn alot of flocks. I envy you, the best is yet to come over there.

    nubbinbuck:

Where from Harvey did your buddies find their best shooting?

    Redneck:

I looked at the ND gazeteer and the road to the north of Tappen just five miles to the north has water on both sides of the road. Same lake as in the pics from your son??? Looks like a great shoot. I do not think we will get that far south. It looks like the potholes really start to take over the landscape south of Harvey, 18 miles south on Highway 3 between Hurdsfield and Goodrich.

The picture is of Tappen Slough but after the first day most of the ducks seemed to be 5 to 10 miles north of there. We did talk to one local who said it was good up by Goodrich.
