man oh man, this is some big time ducky weather we’ve been having the last couple days. cold temps, North winds, and even some rain showers. the ducks should be everywhere……
but guess what…they’re not. all the reports i’ve heard from this weekend sounded pretty bleak. no large concentration of birds anywhere in the state, not to mention anywhere in SE MN.
i hunted the river bottoms this evening inspite of the bad reports. what i found was what everyone else has been saying. great ducky weather, but no ducks. i took a few shots at some passing mallards, but other then that, no birds in the air. not even any high flyers. very, very dissapointing

so where are all these birds at. it’s gotta be getting dern cold up there in canada, potholes must be startin to freeze. the “big push” should be on its way sooner or later. hopefully sooner rather than later
