I have a magnum and a small one. Run the magnum off the bow and the small one off the back when drifting. The small one works great when trolling with it hooked to the bow eye so it runs under the boat. Have never had an issue with either and would buy another one in a second if / when I need another.

Hit my Honey Hole for the morning shoot with 2 good freinds. I had been watching these birds all summer and the numbers had really begun to swell after the dry spell that we had the past few weeks that resulted in dropping water level of local ponds. Scouting I had seen PLENTY of malllard activity in the 2 weeks prior to the season. We were in high hopes until we started across the pasture towards the hole when we noticed a set of lights coming right for us. The wet spring had swollen an ajacent pond out into a field on the property next to where I hunt and these guy thought they were gonna hunt that pond. I want everyone to get shooting, we are all sportsmen it takes a rare breed stuble threw the darkness into unknown swamps.I back my truck down the hill to the lowest point in the pasture in respect for them rather than parking on the hill next to their/our pond.

We got settle in coy set and watched the show begin, Wood Duck after Wood Duck zipped by in the early light as the dog whined impatiently when ducks splashed into the spread just yards for our position in the flooded timber. About 10 minutes after legal light when took our first of what was soon to be our limit of Woodys followed by a mixed bag of Gads and Blue Win Teal. Shelly worked perfectly retreiving all birds to hand which was pleaseing and even held on the stand when shots were taken and birds were missed which was a huge improvement from last year -o

Upon arriveing back to the truck is where the B.S. begins. the guys that had intended on hunting the pond that reaches into thier property now decided that they didnt like me hunting on the 3 rd generation land that my great great grampa hunted during the depression for food! They stole 70 bucks out of my center console and the valve stem out of my left rear tire -?
Kicker is they tresspassed to do it! My truck was parked a mile from the nearest gravel road in the center of 4 square miles with no roads! I for the life of me cant understand people and even a 2.5 hour drive one when cant get me away from the tools that unfortunatly call themselves sportsmen! Wasnt really a big deal besides the money as I have a dozen relatives and just as many good frind with in 10 miles and we were on the road in 20 minutes -D Im more mad at myself for letting them win by being so dejected Ididnt take a final “pile shot” ofour 3 man limit :hammer: GoodLuck to all as the season heats up and to those who do dumb stuff I hope you rot!

That is some bs Ben. Would have been worse if the hunting was horrible . Never tried waterfowl but from everybody that loves it, seems like more headaches than fun? Get your back up in a tree where you belong!

That stinks. At least you had a great shoot. Did you talk to the adjacent land owner to see who was hunting there?

Not that it matters even if I was a stranger, I have written permissionfrom my grampas sister! And they tresspassed to mess with me.

Its BS like this and aho hunters that have driven me out of gun deer hunting. Luckily I dont encounter much of this Grouse hunting because generaly speaking it’s way too hard for jerks like this. Sorry to hear your great day was messed up.

Sorry to hear that your day full of anticipation and excitement turned into a violation of your personal property. I hope the memories of you and your buddies knocking down a few ducks outweigh the bad.
