man oh man, at the start of the season it looked like we were finally going to get the kind of weather that could make for an excelent duck season……COLD. i can’t remeber the last opening day that i had to wear a stocking cap. an early freeze up was even being tossed around.
but with almost 80’s predicted for this weekend, that thought has all but dissappeared from my mind.
i live for late season duck hunting. the best shoots i’ve ever had in MN have come when there’s snow on the ground and people are already ice fishing. well, it’s been at least 4 years since that’s happend. the last few seasons have been heartbreaking. the season close two weeks before we get the major migration of those northern greenheads .
i don’t no about everyone else, but i’m crossin’ my fingers for some brutaly cold weather in the next few weeks. we’re already half way though the season…..get them birds down here!!
