Long Wait

Since before I could hunt I have been obsessed with waterfowl. After picking up the gun at the age of 12 the drake Goldeneye has been eluding me. 13 years later I finally put an end to that. Living far South in Central/Western MN, it isnt exactly a diver ‘hotspot’ but we get our push each year, and alot of them fall. Just never ever see much for Goldeneyes. Greenheads and snows consume waterfowl trips so I am happy to end this wait at home (even though He’s not full plumage). Just the Black duck and Speck left before I can move on to the Sea Duck trips

Very cool duck. I shot one on my wedding day many years ago.

    Nice job!

They are one tough bird! How was the flight?
