Weve got 100+ ringbills on the slough we hunt. The problem is theyve been there too long. Wont blink at our decoys. The bluebird mornings with no wind hasnt helped either. Whenever a fresh flock enters the lake its game on but the other ones just stay on the other side. Need a weather system to get some fresh birds asap!

We need that cold weather bad. I think this stiff west wind today will help but these mid 50’s temps. are killing the waterfowl hunting (and deer hunting). There seemed to be a small push early last week but it didn’t last long.

I wish I could get out to some bigger lakes for can and ringneck hunting. But being 15, that’s a no go. Good luck this weekend and be safe!

Was down by RedWing Saturday and Rice Lake on the Croix Sunday. Slow is an understatement. Got nothing both days. Talked to a WI CO Sunday. He said it is slow everywhere. Bring on the cold damp weather before it’s to late.
Long range forecast for next weekend looks promising.
