We found a “too good to be true” holy grail standing flooded corn field honey hole as we were scouting around last week…..MONEY!!!!

The water was thigh deep and it was holding a LOT of ducks mid last week, but we knew it was going to be close whether the water would hold out for us……and it just barely did long enough for us to bang 3 great hunts out of it. Quick limits of mallards, woodies, teal, and pintails (Gawd the pintails!).

She’s dry now, and it was nothing like it “could have been” if the rain would have come a week later, or the season opened a week earlier…..but still the best start to a season we’ve ever had.

And here’s the coolest pile shot I think we’ve ever gotten…..that’s two pintails in the back ground that wanted in BAD and just wouldn’t go away!!! Lucky for them we were already full

ah, flooded corn… always provides some of the best memories of duck hunting. Two hunts in particular come to mind, but not going to tell them here. Great pictures and way to get that spinner in the air!!!

Awesome stuff Jake. Lots of birds in SD, but the fields don’t look to be flooded.
