Saw some Mallards up at the Pickle factory this past weekend up on Pool 4….one of the Hens had a few baby ducklings with her, and one of them was bright a$$ yellow…Can’t say that i’ve seen that before. The others were “normal” colors…..Potential Albino? Any insight to this?

You sure it wasn’t rubber? They have lots of those “duck races” types of fundraisers on the Mississippi and it tributaries. JK!

Seriously, I have no idea. An albino is the best guess I can come up with. Mother Nature can come up with some really neat stuff! Be glad you got to see it.

I’d say a wild duck bred with a domestic duck. There are a ton of goofy looking ducks down in that area. All white with a green head, normal looking mallards with white patches on them. They really should eliminated.

I seen them yesterday just down from the sportsman landing. I only seen 3 ducklings with the hen and the one was, as you say, bright yellow. There are alot of them down there that have bred with domestics over the years, you’ll see alot of drakes with white wings and odd coloration. I suspect the yellow was part of that breeding.
