And here is Texas. The nice thing down there is all the birds are in full pulmage. I was going for all Drake Green-Wings when this nice mature Drake Pintail showed up. Darn.

September 26, 2003 at 3:50 pm #128Jake,
I’m with ya buddie. Two more classes to go and i’m outa here. Boats loaded, decoys water ready, dogs got food, i’ve got my “beverages”, gas in the truck, calls, licenses, gun and shells, and thats all she wrote. Should be on the road by 3pm headed to Lowry, MN duck capital of the world. Not really but it beats school. WACK’EM AND STACK’EMSeptember 26, 2003 at 3:50 pm #257658Jake,

September 26, 2003 at 4:20 pm #121I am hitting the road in about an hour for Detroit Lakes. I go to school at the UofM and there were a few hundred geese flying around here yesterday. I think the river hunters should do well.

September 26, 2003 at 8:06 pm #115Ya, I hope every body has a good time. I’ve been set to go for about 1 week now. And just to let you all know I went out goose hunting yesterday and shot 2. Maybe a good sign of what is coming!

September 26, 2003 at 8:07 pm #116We’re headed for Big Stone and it should be a good Opener if this little cool weather hasn’t pushed the Teal out. Last Saturday for Youth Day the boy filled out in a couple of hours and the Teal were thick. Good luck to all and be careful Driving home after a long weekend.

September 27, 2003 at 10:37 pm #95Wish I could participate, Alas, the complete lack of water is not conducive to large concentrations of waterfowl. Guess I’ll just have to wait ’til next year!
Shoot a drake for me!
