There has been a good sauger bite going on up at the dam most of the winter so far. On pool 4 if its warm enough to get out there the fishing is usually good.

Take a trip through the archives. Search for pool 4 reports for the months you are interested in. You’ll see that there are opportunities for quality bites during 9-10 out of the calendar’s 12 months.

    Fish4Eyes,
I have the best luck in April when the river is high.
Seems the faster current concentrates the fish so even a dummy like me can find them!

Kelly P and Myself have not duck hunted in years but Kelly has always let guys duck hunt his fields for a fee. Now this year we made a huge change over to dry grains from what was always flooded rice fields on some of the smaller chunks and it looks like the ducks and geese liked it. Figure you qauckers and honkers would like these pictures.

First three shots is the daily run of Mallards with a bunch of teal mixed in and the last three are the honkers and Kelly’s grouse dog not really sure what to do about those big birds.

That was every day for a couple weeks with the ducks and a few of the geese are still hopping around the country. Like I said I hung up the decoys to dry in 1997 and they are still hanging there but Kelly figures we should start putting clients on those birds next year…so I guess I better find a bag for the decoys and see if I the old Haydel #5 still makes sounds.
