Every one is interested in bands and it would be cool to see where every one’s birds are from. I would like to make this post about banded birds and the reports you get back about those birds. I think it would be awesome to see whats going on in our IDO area. So, The format is SPECIES:, SEX:, AGE BANDED:, LOCATION BANDED: LOCATION HARVESTED: (you can give general area if your afraid of intruding band hunters ) HARVEST DATE (assumed this hunting season):, If you would like to include any bands in this post you find interesting/subsequent/intriguing/awesome/fun/what have you, please add them to “Banded Bird Stories? Got One?” by flatfish @ http://www.idohunting.com/forum/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/634074/page/0/view/collapsed/sb/5/o/93/fpart

    First, and as example:
    Species: Large (Greater) Canada Goose
    Sex: Female
Age Banded: Too young to fly, 2008
    Location Banded: Graettinger, IA
    Location Harvested Saint James, MN
    Harvested: 2009

Look forward to hearing about your birds

Excellent idea and post flatlandfowler! I made this post a sticky one so that it will always show up on top of this forum.

Thanks for making this a ‘sticky’ post…. I have to wait for the snail mail to get the info back to me on this last duck…will post there when I get it.

    flat,
I added my first to your thread since that is my ‘band story.’ These were the two bands I shot this year. I intended this thread to be just the certificate info on birds from just this year. In no way was I trying to jack your thread (thats why I cited it), just thought this format would be an easy way to see how many IDO’ers shot bands this year, how many, and a quick ‘connect the dot’ format for location, thats all. I enjoyed reading every ones stories in flat’s thread and hope some more jewelry hits the dirt during the conservation season. Good luck this spring every one.
