This is my first duck i have ever tried mounting and only my second thing i have ever mounted. My first was a pheasant i posted on here a month or so ago. Tell me what ya think of this mallard. It is still not finished as i have to clear coat the beak and paint the feet once it is dried. I will post pics when completely finished

From the picture it looks real good. Especially if that is only your second bird.

I think its great! Did you take taxidermy training? I have mounted a few and if you have any questions just ask.

No i did not take any taxidermy training classes all i did was watch the video on Taxidermy Tube and went from there. By the way i love your mounts. Do you use artificial bills on your birds?

Yes I do use the artificial bills. No shrinkage and a much better end result. I think you have some real talent there and if you enjoy it that’s awesome. Have you ever thought about doing any big game mounts?

Actually yes i have been thinking of that but i got to wait till next year to shoot another deer (unless one gets in front of the DODGE!) I have a coyote in the freezer i would like to try to mount leaping in the air after a pheasant but before i do that i have a couple squrrils and a rabbit to practice with before i do anything that difficult. Great job on the deer by the way. Hopefully i will have a pic or two of some squrrils and a rabbit before to long.

    Great looking mounts guys!

Now I got two more really affordable taxidermists…
