Hey guys new to this idohunting site. Me and a few buddies are wanting to plan a trip to Arkansas in late december. We planned on just hunting public land and the DNR down there told us Stuttgart. I was just wondering if anyone new anything about hunting public land down there and a few pointers please? Thanks

I can not give you any information on locations.
I just received my annual invite to lower Arkansas and was again told to not get excite until after Christmas.
    Good luck

Not to step on your turf, but I fly to NW Ark about 6 times a year as I work with Wal-mart and always wondered about trying some hunting down there. If you do find some descent places to hunt and aren’t opposed to sharing, please let me know how it goes. Good Luck. RR

Since you are heading to the waterfowl hunting capitol of the world, I would expect a lot of competition on public grounds(assumption on my part). I would get your hands on as many maps as possible and make lots of game plans. Then, be willing to adjust them on the fly as needed.

I would also be willing to buy some ammo/groceries etc… locally to potentially gain some insight to the area. If you are all rookies for this trip, set your expectations accordingly and plan to learn as much as you can. The long distance trips tend to take a few years to really come together. A successfull hunt doesn’t have to be lots of killing.

Please bring lots of pics, it’s looks like a blast to hunt down there!!
