spreads

What size spreads are you guys using? I have a spot I am going to this weekend that is a oval bowl, 1 side has big huge dirt and rock mounds and the other side has a woods back ground with a big entrance from the north and hill at the south of the pot hole, it is about 60 feet wide by about 175 feet long. and deep. just curious how many decoys to put out as to many and the ducks will not land. was also thinking about dropping a few duck decoys, but then the mallards would have to fly over to land and have not had much luck that way.

or spot #2 is a kidney shaped that is shallower, hio wader deep ijn certain areas and ankle deep in others with not much cover. should I set up int he shallow area there? as that is pretty open all directions except 1. what are you r thoughts?

What are the ducks in your area doing? Are they in big groups or still in smaller flocks? That would be a place to start.
