    Hey fellas,
Specifically Kris, Jake, Lars, MM, Moss, Erick, etc.
I need some insight for duck/goose hunting in SE MN for Friday.
I’m going to be in Winona area on Thursday for business.
I may bring my big boat, as it is the only one that I have home right now.
I’m looking for a decent hunting spot, with or without fellow IDOers, that a guy can get into with a 16ft alumacraft and a 50HP.
Please PM me if you can offer a suggestion or if we might hook up on Friday.
    Good luck
    cheers

I do not Kris, but I’ve done crazier things when I thought that they were worth it
What do you have up you sleeve?
    cheers

This is great humor, WI and MN can not even price their “non resident” licenses the same way
Small game in WI = $85.00, in MN = $84.50
Duck stamp in WI = $7.00, in MN = $7.50
Total investment in WI = $92.00, in MN = $92.00

Thanks Soby, I have heard the same reports from that area, except for the people that have higher quality, traditional spots.
For a river amatuer like myself, I would not consider that without an experienced local in the boat with me
I was actually hoping to find another water spot on one of the few inland bodies of water down there, i.e. Zumbro, Shady, Rice or any of the many that I might not know about.
    Keep the advise coming
    cheers

I haven’t been out since saturday, sad I know, but my buddy is going out today and I’ll shoot you a note about how he does/what he sees. The Zumbro has about 2 or 3 spots to legally hunt because of the houses on the lake and it never gets “loaded” with birds. I don’t think that Shady is even legal to hunt, the whole lake may be in the city limits, reguardless its too shallow to run an outboard. I have not been to Rice Lake in several years but I know the pressure is high to very high from what I remember and is part of the reason I do not go there anymore.

Lake Shady starts to get real good this time of year….don’t need a boat, you should be able to walk in right off the hwy, or city park….either way, you can only shoot two geese….should be a quick In-and-out

Confirmed, you cannot hunt lake Shady East of HWY 52.

My buddy took a 3 hour tour near Trep. and jump a dozen ducks total. My other buddy was bow hunting the islands down there and heard 1 volley of shooting. My old Baseball coach in Winona said his buddy went to Reno Bottoms and never shot the gun. We are going out of Winona area tonight and I’ll report some findings.

Glad you guys did well. Spent most of last month traveling for work in California. Did see some Mallards in the LA. aquaducts though. Let me know if you head down that way again. Had many goods hunts in that area.
