Last Saturday the bottoms we hunt had very few duck so we set up in some fields above the Mighty Miss. We manage 11 Woodducks in about 30 minutes. Our season has been closed for 5 days so I was chomping at the bit to back in the bottoms. We managed two mixed bags this Sat and Sun.
The better half had the camera for Sat. bag of 7 mallards, & 7 GW Teal and 4 Gads , fog was thick Sat morning making IDing birds very difficult. We saw some pintails and a couple Widgeon also just unable to connect with our opportunities .

Sunday brought sunny sky’s that made ID’ng the duck easy. We had a very nice mixed bag today. 8 Mallards, 3 Widgeon, 3 Gads, 1 GW Teal, 1 Woodduck and 1 Goose. My Buddy had a great double on 2 widgeon that came in to end the morning hunt. We could use a little more COLD weather up North.

It’s great to see there are some younger waterfowlers that got out with you. We all need to keep the sport alive.

That’s a heckuva bag of drake woodies. The early morning flury will be remembered for years to come I’m sure.

Good shooting. Nice pics also. Dont shoot them all, I would like a few left by the time they are in my area!
