I’m working on a couple of ideas for floating the motorized and wind operated motion decoys in deeper water.
I already own a couple of the new MOJO Bluebill floaters and I love them.
I’m focusing now on trying to incorporate existing spinners, on the typical 3′-4′ metal post, into my dabbler spread where I’m frequently hunting in deeper water.
I have tried the extension posts and wide-weighted bases, but I want something that floats.
I’m sure that several of you have given this some thought and maybe refined a few prototypes so far. What kind of ideas have you seen or put to use?
    cheers

i’ve heard of people using the styrofoam insulation for houses pushed inside of a goose shell with a wooden keel, maybe using this to make some sort of platform with a keel maybe painted a dark blue or black to blend in with the water. just an idea

Take a small inner tube and set the decoy inside of that. Wrap some camo material around the tube to hide it. The wings will act [censored] a paddle while it is spinning and make the decoy swim around. Works very well unless you are in some really thick vegetation.
I can get a pic if needed
