I just bought two of these. I have used Final Approach before, but these look like something else all together! I am going to break them in this weekend in Pine City. I will report back on how they work out! Otter Destroyer Blind

November 13, 2007 at 6:17 pm #13654They look a little flimsy to me? Kinda like a cheapo you’d buy at Fleet Farm or something
I would imagine they’ll probably work fine though
November 14, 2007 at 2:17 am #13702Good luck Tuck! They look like nice blinds. I’ll be in Hinckley looking for some last venison.

The Xterminator is the fold up model. These actually have a 4″ Otter Sled under them.
For the record…there are no birds “In” Pine City.drakesdemiseResiding in St. Paul, MN doing weekly travel throughout the five state Upper MidwestPosts: 976November 14, 2007 at 3:06 pm #13750I think “Take a Cousin hunting” day is just around the corner.
If you happened to see my most recent post in the migration report, I have been strugling
Good luck

I would have to disagree with the above comment. (No offense Jake!) We had two of the Otter Destroyers and one Final Approach blind. We spent quite a while trying to get the Final approach together, not to mention apart! I imagine it has a lot to do with not being familiar with it. But the Destroyer had two pins on each side..that never have to be undone..and everything folds in onto itself. Plus! It has the venerable Otter low profile sled under it! And it has a nice cushion to sit on. One big thing I like about the Destroyer is that when closed, you have one Velcro strap that comes together to hold the two sides. It gives plenty of clearance to grab calls or shells, snacks and other things without having to open it up. And when it is open, it opens all the way on both sides. It makes getting in and out of very easy. Your dog can hang out by your feet, and when you want to release it, you can pull the foot cover up, and the dog can go out easily! Really sweet! The head and feet covers fold into the sled and compress flat. This whole unit takes up 6″!
And, for the record, I bought these blinds. I could have bought any of them. But after seeing these, I was impressed! My son Ben is planning on getting one too, as he drew the short straw this weekend. And Drakesdemise, if you can hunt over dry ground for a change, you can tag along anytime!

Were you hunting pheasants from them?
What is in your schedule for Friday? PM me if you are open.
cheersNovember 21, 2007 at 4:05 am #8079Friday is the Superbowl of squirrel hunting in Pine City. The kids get that day to get even with the squirrels that tormented them all through deer hunting season.
I have a lot of birds working here in Hastings though!Oh, and BTW…that is a drainage ditch in our land that separates two corn fields. This winter we are building some chicken wire blinds that that saw grass can grow through for next year! Great for Crow hunting as well.

Or Monday?
Or Tuesday?
I actually do have decoys that are not intended for use on the water
Call my cell phone, I will be away from the computer from Wednesday afternoon until Monday.
Good luck avenging the squirrels
cheersNovember 22, 2007 at 2:55 am #8210I have used one of these for 5 years, and they are extremely high quality and durable, i bought one when it was from goose-view yet. Guaranteed your but stays dry, rounded form blends better than square edged models, very comfortable, sides flip down all the way allowing you to roll out and fire in any direction if necessary.
