Got out a few days last week w/some buddies to chase down some ducks. Lots of Mallards running around…Here are few pics of some birds we layed the smack down to.

Just to expand a little – The birds were flying real good during the week. Wednesday when we had 40+ mph winds there were birds everywhere.

The weekend was a different story though. It was mild, sunny, and no wind, and simply no birds flying around.

There are the occassional geese that come through, but nothing spectacular yet….

These colder temps should help, but it’s supposed to be mild again this weekend….I’ll try to keep the updates coming.

Nice job Sloppy! I hunted geese this morning. Shot 10. The weather is just to nice and the birds are feeding on grass!

Slop, I am finding that this has been one of the best years in a long time here on pool 8. Getting lots of ducks.

I have been hunting mostly on Pool 7, and the year was good up until November hit, and seems very slow since then, though I wasn’t out for the big wind on Monday.

WE were out to goose island on monday afternoon and there were ducks all over, but they were VERY land shy, never fired the gun but watched ducks all afternoon fly around us and land 100 yds away and never come close to flying over/close to any land.
