Well I was doing a little side work on sunday and noticed that a small flock of geese landed in the back pond. Yep it was time for the not so small youngster to go on his first solo goose jump.
I have did this many times with mixed results and in his eyes it was going to be a piece of cake. Off he went….. about 10 minutes later I can hear the geese cackling….. I can the see the lead goose breaking the trees…. Boom…Boom…Boom. Wow I thought did he actually get close enough????? Well another 15 minutes roll by and no sign of him. The wife starts to question my decision about letting him go solo and I asure her that he is fine. There goes another 15 minutes and she is about to head out the door herself. Due to my 15 years of marriage I knew I best get out there and retrive him or it will be game over for me. I jump on the wheeler and round the corner and sure enough he is walking from the other side of the swamp draging a big ole canadian! He makes his way over to me dead tired and with a waterline 10″ above the waders. But pulls just enough energy out of his body to raise up the goose with a big grin!
Yeah thats my boy!
