Time is getting near. That is a good thing. Anyway, I am looking at putting together a Canada hunting trip for this fall. Last minute I know. Anyway, I was wondering where is a good place to find info on regs, crossing the border, maps, etc. I am not looking for any hotspots just a starting point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to all!!!!!!!! Jeweler

You have alot of work to do in a short amount of time but most of it can be done on line. If you are hunting Manitoba you can go to their conservation site at gov.mb.ca/conservation and start to work. You can download a hunting guide for Manitoba there as well as non res license applications. The hunting guide will cover the regs, seasons, hunting zones, etc. I assume that Saskatchewan has the same type of web site available.

I don’t know about forms for taking dogs in to Canada but I am sure you will need something.

You will need forms to register your guns when you get there. Those are available on line as well and you will want to have them filled out ahead before you get to the border. You will pay $25 Canada $ to register them.

Travel Manitoba can provide a general guide for traveling in Canada including what you can bring in and take out etc. Also, call your car insurance company and get an insurance card for traveling in Canada.

You probably know about the passport issue.

    Good luck!
