I just need to vent a little. The buffer zone project has started. I dont really think it is going to help the population decrease. All it is going to do is push the geese out in to the yards of the people doing all of the complaining. IMO. Even if the vegitation they are planting takes hold I dont think it will take that long for 25-35k geese to totally destroy it!! In the end it will just be another way for Rochester to waste money, If anything it will probably will increase the local population because the geese will have a very safe place to nest with all of the grasses they are planting The next thing people will be complaning about will be how the fences make the neighborhood look. What do you guys think of the project?? If they want to decrease population let us shoot five bird limits that will decrease population Im done now

Get accustomed to it. Very accustomed to it. I think the paper said the fences would be up for two years. Apparently nobody bothered to tell the planners of this farce that geese fly. One would assume that anyone capable of making plans for something of this nature would also have enough grey matter to think of that fact. The paper said it was about water quality, not goose control, though. I suppose there will be someone to counter me with some brilliance if I suggest that geese might also take a dump IN the water. More to the point here, one you nailed perfectly dead-center, is that this is a waste of money. And I wouldn’t be a bit dumbfounded if we come to find out that someone of influence got some jing under the table or that the owner of this outfit doing the work is a relative of one of those who voted yea.

Rah, Rah, Rochester is right…..except for Sliver Lake.
