Wisconsin set the 2007 reg. 60 days, six ducks, 4 mallards only 1 hen, 2 canvas back(60 days) 1 pintail (60 days) Southern zone set back to 5 day split……for all regs visit the wi DNR.

Who on gods green earth wants to start duck hunting that early in September and get done that early in November for us guys in the northern region. Figure it out and give the hardcore late season guys a chance when the hunting is actually good to shoot some greenheads instead of shooting the darn teal. Woop dee doo, you gotta shoot a limit of six teal to even think about making dinner out of it!

I’m happy with the southern season…..I agree the Northern season ends a little early…..I do have some land with ponds on them in the Birchwood area and they are usually frozen by deer hunting…..really depends on the weather….you’ll have to travel to the southern zone to get your late season greenheads. I agree the teal are small but the are my favorite when it come to eating duck.
I like the fact that I can run up north for the northern season and get a week earlier start but have the ability to hunt the late season in the southern zone.
