I like the Primos calls, easy to blow and good sound. I think the main thing is practice—practice—practice.

I personally think you should ask yourself how much time you will put into practicing. The double reeds sound more “ducky” right out of the box than a single reed, but they have their limitations.

Do you know if the call you have is a double or single reed?

RNT makes a good call, you’ll be happy but the key to any call is Practice, practice, pratice. Put that CD in your truck and every where you go practice calling. I once got a standing O from a city road crew when I was on my way to a meeting. I was blowing a duck call routine while stopped a red light…and didn’t realize they were right there working on the road. They got a kick out of it!!

Practice is the key I have been hunting ducks for 25 years and I still drive around blowing on my call. As far as calls get yourself a single reed and a double and learn to use them. You will find what works best for you after a little practice. I would not spend allot of money on a call till you know what you like. The best sounding call I have is the one that I have spent the least money on?????
