Breast it out.Marinate it in Zesty Italian Dressing overnight, Cut each breast in to 3 strips the long way.Wrap a stick of Bacon around each one and grill. When the Bacon is done.So is the goose! It will look rare and it is, But ohhhh soooo goood!

This is how we cook our geese and it is the best I’ve ever had. Really have to make sure you don’t over cook. Make sure it’s red in the middle. We also smoke the legs and that is very good also.

Chappy, they increase early limits to five because they want the resident population decreased. IMHO they should keep it at 5 for the first 2-3 weeks of the regular season as well, because then we start to see the migrators. The mirgrating gooose population isn’t as great or increasing as the resident goose population

wow i am suprised that the US fish and wildlife service hasn’t gotten involved in this. Seems to be a federal issue when you are messing around with migratory birds wouldn’t it be???????????

I think what you are missing is the fact that they could be shaking the egg of your next 16 lb goose.

Good point I never thought of that.Maybe we should weigh the eggs first. And save only the largest ones and maybe just maybe !!!! But seriously how can shaking an egg be inhumane.I think you watch to many Disney movies

I think its wrong (maybe not inhumane). Just let rochester residents shoot more resident geese…that makes more sense to me. People paying to shoot them, instead of wasting tax dollars.

Personally I don’t see what the big deal is. When the peak is at Silver Lake it is usually around december. I haven’t seen too many people running, walking and having picnics at this time. When the birds start migrating north there are a lot of birds around but look around now, I have been cruising around for work but I still don’t think that there is even 300 nesting pairs that spend the summer here. Also, look at what the smart developers are doing around town, there are more pits and little ponds around that are perfect for nesting even MORE geese. It seems like every on/off ramp has a pond by it, I suppose the people cryin’ out will complain about mosquitos as well, but they will continue to make more habitat for both species, as that whole Cascade Lake project will make that lake even bigger than Silver Lake. People need to lear to take in the good with what they percieve as the bad!
