I couldn’t do it……I just couldn’t come to grips that my 2006 season was over……but after a couple dismal days up in Rochester this week, I figured I was done for the season…..but sitting around the house Friday with nothing to do, contemplating ice fishing in the rain (Uck ), I just had to go make the rounds and see if there were any birds still stickin around the river.

what I found was quite a bit of open water, and a lot of geese…….and I just happend to stumble upon 40-50 that had placed themselves in a very precarious location……..so with gun in hand, I decided a little sneak attack was in order

long story short, I peaked over the side of the bank and there they were only 10yds…….yep a couple of Christmas gooses!!!

and just for fun, I threw em on my digital scale when I got home…….13.0 and 13.7#’s respectively……Them some big birds!!!

Good way to end the 2006 waterfowl season!!! now bring on the spring snows!!!

Good going Jake. You are right also. The goose hunting around Rochester has been really tough! Alot of birds, they just do not want to work.

Just a reminder when posting pics if you link out to photos on photobucket or other photo hosting sites be sure that they are no wider than 450 pixels on the largest side or you will stretch the page here on the site. ANY PICS LARGER 450 PIXELS WILL BE DELETED!!!!

Using the photo upload system here on the site is FAR easier and quicker than using photobucket or other photo hosting sites… once you get the file sizing figured out. The other nice thing about uploading photos to the IDA server is that they’ll always be part of the post you added them to. If you browse old threads you’ll find nearly all photos added using a hosting site are missing… so the posts are loaded with all those red “X’s” indicating a missing file.
