Last minute Mallards

Well we had “the field” for the last week of hunting ducks west of Rochester . We hunted it last Wed and took a 3 man limit in about 45 min. We let it rest for a couple of days and then hunted it sunday night and monday night with a combined total of 31 mallards taken in those 2 night hunts. The flocks were ranging from 2 to 50 but tornados of 100-150 were common when, at times, they all got together. We never hunted the same area twice, the field we hunted is sort of sectioned off by three fingers of a very nice pheasant slough, so we just jumped to which section they were circling and set-up. The birds were very willing to work, though tonight some birds were a little weary, we still pulled some down and landed them. Well, too much time taken off for this guy and yes, the season ends too early in this waterfowler’s eyes, sure would’ve been nice to have a split and about 10 more days of duckin’ left!

We had out a dozen of the Greenhead gear full body mallards each time out, one of the days we put out 2 dozen goose shells. It’s been so muddy and it was a chisle plowed corn field so the trailer full of biggies would’ve been a handfull. Since nobody hunts there but us that’s all we needed, along with 2 of us calling.

There are two downfalls to this. One is that I don’t own a digital camera and the second is that I wouldn’t know how to anyway, how does one post pictures from a disposable camera?. I’ve never posted pictures, but yeah, I’d like to learn. In ending, go ahead and question me for it, be jealous for it, but man we pounded the birds. (LOL; all in good FUN!!)

I have a digital camera and I know how to post the pics. Instead of going out and spending $400 on a camera, and spending time figuring out how to post a picture, all you have to do is invite me along. Then all you have to do is make a phone call. It seems soo easy…
