had a pretty cool couple of days. 10 mallards out of the white out snow storm yesterday and a 3 man limit of mallards, a gad, and a SWEET pheasant even. one of my ponds has a few of them around it. we usually shoot a couple a year there. this one had a 25 in tail! biggest one i have ever shot…

Quite a sprig on that thing. Did it come to the calls? Did you have out any rooster decoys? I’ve been adding 3 or 4 to my spread just in case Looks like fun!

What part don’t you like the hunting or the 3 man limit ?? Either way sounds like a jealously issue.

That a great bunch to get into the boat. How have the ducks been decoying on the river for you?? How have you been working your spreads for numbers. I am going to head in that general direction this weekend and am planning on 10-12 dozen dekes this weekend. I figure I have to go crazy atleast once a year. Just interested in your thoughts.

I think Chriss was referring to the fact that whenever someone has a great day, we always have to make sure that we list out the ducks with the number of people involved. Sometimes people scorn us for overlimit or identify Gads as suzies and start the scorning us for shooting suzies. Basically, that is a great day on the water. I have limited by myself a quite few times this season, but have yet to limit out with more than two guys.

I would keep that spread under 2 dozen. We hunted the river last weekend. The birds are VERY decoy shy at the moment. Most of the groups we saw were 6 to 10 birds. Very few responded to the call and they always circled a couple times before commiting.

    Just my .10
