    Just thought I would through out a post on the munber of ducks on the refuge at Squaw Creek Wildlife Refuge in NW Missouri. That is where we have a duck lease in the NE corner of the refuge.

    Squaw Creek NWR * 11/06/2006 193989 62% mallards, 24% pintails, 5% gadwalls, 5% GWT, 3% shovelers, < 1% ruddy ducks, < 1% ring-necked ducks, < 1% buffleheads, < 1% wood ducks 2260 12000 8105 coots, 155 wigeons, 152 redheads, 86 hooded mergansers, 30 canvasbacks, 14 bald eagles, unknown age

    Yes! Almost 200k ducks. 62% Mallards! 120,000 Mallards!!

    Just checked the Missouri duck numbers today. As of 11-21-06.

    Squaw Creek NWR * 11/20/2006 198435 76% mallards, 11% pintails, 5% shovelers, 4% GWT, 2% gadwalls, 1% ring-necked ducks, < 1% wigeon, < 1% wood ducks, < 1% buffleheads

    76% mallards = 150,480!!!

    wow, ill bet theyre thumping them in the fields, and its not like squaw is the only place that holds birds there either, ill bet there is another 50,000 at various duck clubs and private marshes, i wish i lived closer to there
