Saturday morning goose hunt was unbelievable to say the least!! 28 birds by 7:50! The birds were very cooperative and came right in. We were hunting a bean field. the birds were coming from the south and the north. They had been in a corn/bean field just inside the refuge to the north of us. The first singal came from the south and chrushed him. The next was a singal that came from the north and wacked him!! Then flock of 20 came the north and we wacked 13 out of this flock!! Another good sized flock came in and 11 dropped!!!! Another pair came in and that was it!!! Limit.
Sunday 10-15-06. Same field. Started out the same. A flock of 5 came in and shot 2. Another flock of 20 came in and 10 fell to the rath of the guns. Had a flock of 11 come in and killed 7 on the first approch and the other 4 came back around and knocked the rest out!! We had a flock of cacklers come in shot 5 out of that for another limit by 7:55!!!!!
The goose hunting is really getting going right know with the cold fronts pushing more and more birds in all the time!! The IDA hunt should be a great one!!
