    Stay away from the grassy area unless you feel like pass shooting. Just remember that the birds will land into the wind. Geese will generally land 20-30 yards short of your decoys and feed into the group. Keep most the majority of the dekes behind you as you want the geese to basically land right on top of you and your buddies. Just remember that geese are basically stupid, but it doesn’t take too many brain cells to see strange movement, so just keep still and tell your buddies not to be watching the flock circle around. Then of course, lay the smack down. Good luck and have fun.

    I agree….stay away from obvious cover and just conceal yourself in the field. They get wary after being shot at from standing corn rows or grassy ditches elsewhere.

    The brat and I are heading out tonight to work on some fields one being soy beans, for this weekend…..I have a couple in mind that I know are at least in high traffic areas. Just need permission.

    some great advise here already. In ND field hunting, we always try to put the oversized shells near where we lie to draw attention away from us.

    corn is my favorite for geese but beans will work as well. Along with wheat and hay fields.
