I was just wondering, has anyone ever seen geese in soy bean fields? I’ve got some to hunt but I don’t know if they will land there.

My party is pretty full at the moment. They are still picking them right now so I think next week I’m gunna hit them. I might get out tomorrow after school. If I do I’ll let you know how I do. Does anyone have any tips for keeping concealed as I dont have a layout blind.

Full cammo and face paint. Make sure all skin is covered and lay still. Should be fine.

Especially when your hunting fresh cut beans! Have fun and let us know how it goes.

Dig a shallow trench between the bean stubble and cover yourself with the combine trash. Maybe wear brown carharts instead of camo if your camo is too dark. Possibly cover yourself with burlap. Burlap is cheap an is the right color. Shouldn’t stick out too much.

Thanks I’ve got a bunch of burlap. I never thought of that. I told the owner that I wouldnt dig any trenches. He does have a grassy ditch running through the middle of his field. Can I hide in that or will the geese get spooked by it?

Sounds like you need to call in the professionals!!

shut up, get down, cover up and put the hammer down

assuming you have a goose call, give them a few clucks, nothing over the top. If you are where they want to be you will crush.

I would stay away. If you cover up and stay still all should be fine.

Go rake some bean stuble up and put it over your burlap. Put a few decoys around you and maybe a shell decoy on top of you. I use layout blinds in bean fields and do not have a problem. Move around in the fields the different days you hunt them. They will get used to one spot.

Stay away from that grassy area and just worry about consealing yourself.
Tell the others in your party not to move or worry about watching the birds! The callers will tell you when to look
When you do hunt that field, pay attention to the way they fly arround that grassy area and you will likely see what we are talking about.
    cheers

Wear face masks.Do not pie face them if you have some super mag shell decoys, make a blind with them and hunker down. Also if you have silloette decoys you can hide behind them as well. If the grassy area will conceal you better, then head for it. If it is the right area of the bean field and if the wind will make it work for you,go for it. How many guys are you tring to hide ????

Stay away from the grassy area unless you feel like pass shooting. Just remember that the birds will land into the wind. Geese will generally land 20-30 yards short of your decoys and feed into the group. Keep most the majority of the dekes behind you as you want the geese to basically land right on top of you and your buddies. Just remember that geese are basically stupid, but it doesn’t take too many brain cells to see strange movement, so just keep still and tell your buddies not to be watching the flock circle around. Then of course, lay the smack down. Good luck and have fun.
