It looks like I will finally be fitting in a trip to Lake of the Woods this year.

My focus will be on divers.

We have boats and large decoy rigs intended for big water hunts.

What I need is some input on areas to target for hunting and lodging?

All info will be appreciated and PMs are encouraged .

I have already submitted email inquiries to our site sponsoring resorts in the area.

    Thanks in advance

    cheers

Might want to ask the same question in the LOTW forum…

Cathy from Wigwam Resort is pretty on top of things there.

I’m actually not sure who all is going yet
My “wounded grizzly” has already started her annual rant about my hunting illness
The *%@#&^$ season has not even been open for a full week
I’m planning ahead in an attempt to avoid any last-minute conflicts (being planned)
    cheers

My buddy that has a cabin on Raspberry Island is a big big fan of Duck Bay Lodge up there in Sabaskong Bay. I’d kinda want to narrow down where you want to hunt then pick a close lodge – either on an island or on the bank like Buena Vista.

Be careful hunting up there!!! If you get bored or a limit, it’s crappie time too!

Fishing will certainly be an option
I do not have any familiarity at all with the lake
Is one side or area of the lake better for divers than another?
    cheers

    Hi guys,

Four Mile Bay right in front of the resort is awesome for ducks this time of year. The nice thing about being right here is the shiners are starting to move in FINALLY.

The warm weather slowed them up a bit but now they are coming around with the temps getting quite chilly at night.

As far as the ducks go if Tom can’t put you on them…they aren’t here.

We have actually been doing a lot of goose hunting this year also and producing good numbers.

    Cathy,
I sent an email to you on your website link. Did you receive it?
I think we are narrowing things down quickly here, South shore make perfect sense
    cheers
