Saturday’s blue bird day didn’t stop the birds from moving (or could it have been all the people out there moving them around) We had three guys 17 ducks and 1 goose. Break down on ducks:
    3 Mallards
    3 Gadwall
    6 Wooduck
    4 Blue Wing teal
    1 Green wing teal
Sunday 2 of us struggled to get 7 ducks, with the numbers of hunters out every time we had birds committing to the decoy spread a shot we sound off from somewhere and off they’d go……that’s hunting. We had a new pup in the blind this year that worked very well…..It was nice to have another dog in the blind my chocolate is getting pretty old and not as fast as she use to be.

    Sundays duck break down
    1 mallard
    3 wood duck
And 3 teal 2 blue and 1 green

The new Pup in the blind. You should have seen him trying to drag that goose back to the blind. It was kind of comical watching him drag it by the head. His mouth was too small to grab it by the back so he was trying to drag it from the head……didn’t work to well for him.

The best tasting duck depends on the person. Everyone likes something a little different. My personal favorite is teal. But they disappear pretty quick. I also like Cans. Nice bunch of ducks by the way.

Great pictures! Looks like you had a very nice opener!

BTW – I think most will say the Mallards are the best; I think Woodies taste great, too!
