Me and a buddy hunted a sweet corn field yesterday west of town and dumped 4 birds pretty handily. When we were picking up a decent flock of those little buzzards came a whizzin’ out louder than all hell. The migration has started already for geese, but then again it seems every year a couple of flocks come in real early.

I have been at the river fishing for the last few weeks. More and more ducks and geese are showing up also!

Was working outside to day and after I returned from lunch I noticed white wing tips in the air, a flock of about 14 snows/blues flew over the shop and they were headed back into town. Looks like we got some early white visitors.

I seen geese exactly like that I think it was last year around the LAX area. I was told by many on here that I was crazy and snows do not come over this way. Now, I know for a fact the geese I saw were snows and I am not crazy

I was out for my walk late this afternoon and i had a pretty good size flock of those little geese fly over. Are they a Richardson’s goose?

If the geese look like canadas but smaller then they are called Lesser canadians. If they aren’t then I have no clue what they are.

If they are not born in Canada are they still considered canadian??

And Jake, yeah ya caught me with the whole white wing-tips bid, thanks for pointing that out. I’m just glad I don’t “mistake” them for swans and shoot them during the season.
