Instead of losing points by not going or being grumpy all day during the ceremony and reception, see the opportunity that this is providing you. While openers are fun cause the ducks are dumb and its a big party, with global warming they can also be too hot and not that great. I’d say go to the wedding but on the same day you agree to go, bring up the fact that you’d really like to hunt Arkansas this winter or Canada in October or wherever it is you’ve always wanted to go. Take it from a guy who’s been married ten years..it is way better to score points than hold your ground. The old addage, the more you give, the more you receive is very true….and yes we’re still talking about hunting here!!

Mallard Mallard Mallard, There are some things your going to need to know before getting married

I’ll start you off with the most important one

It’s much easier to ask for forgivness, than to ask for permission!

Spoken like a true big brother. You don’t happen to want to spend a nice weekend with your soon to be sister-inlaw, say on Sept. 30 do you?

I think I am going to use this opportunity to drive home the need for a new War Eagle boat.

MM, What kinda ducks are you going to hunt down there?? You wouldn’t be going to a duck hunting mecca like that without trying it??

I would have to say, what is good for the goose is also good for the best friends gander. seeing how she has obligations not to attend your wedding, I think that hunting them winged birds, watching the sun rise, seeing the decoys playing in the rippling water with a slight breeze is far more important than going to their wedding.

Hey Mallard I was just wondering, if you could drop off the Stealth, and a couple of your wind powered decoys on the 28th or 29th? You will be driving right by on youre way to the wedding anyway, and its not like you will be using them that weekend!

I was planning on stopping by your place of employment and picking up the enclosed trailor so that my stealth and dekes do not get stolen while I drink free beer at the wedding the night of opener.

Speaking of duck boats, did you bring you swiss cheese jon boat with the 15hp bilge pump out for early goose this weekend?

I think I’m starting to detect a little anger! Speaking of free beer I think its youre turn to bring the beer, for the sat evening duck BBQ. I guess you could drop that off to.

Speaking of the boat, there are just to many memories, in that old scow to replace here yet. I suppose that will change, when she leaves me sittin on the bottom!

Honestly I hope you have a good time at the wedding!

I’ll take lots off pictures, so you won’t miss a thing!

p.s. could you maybe pickup some cigars too? it’s kind of an opening morning tradition.
