i have not used them or heard reports. i know by the looks of them you may want to buy stock in dura-cell first. if i remember they take 4 aa batteries and last 12-18 hrs?

I thought about trying them myself, but I am on the fence.

I usually carry a bag of nice rocks to chuck in the decoys if birds are working on calm days. No batteries required and generally free. It seems to work sometimes, but mostly it makes my dog hyper because he thinks I just sent him on a mark.

I have 2 to 3 deke’s that I will tie Mono to when I know there will be a calm day. As needed I pull the line till the dekes are taught on the anchor line then let them slide around. Seems to work well. The quicker you pull the line taught the more water you move and affect the dekes around them.

This is also movement that can be created when birds are in the area without alot of motion in the boat

I CAME UP WITH SOMETHING LAST YR THAT WORKS PRETTY WELL.

STARTED WITH A FEEDER DECOY (THE BUTT) AND GOT ABOUT 100FT OF DARK COLORED LINE(HEAVY) AND A EXTENSION CORD ROLL UP THING (WHERE YOU WIND IT ON ) AND A GOOD SIZE WEIGHT (I USED A CUT PIECE OF RR RAIL) PUT THE LINE THROUGH THE BIG HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FEEDER AND ATTACH THE WEIGHT. PUT IT OUT IN THE SPREAD AND UNWIND THE LINE BACK TO THE BLIND. WHEN YOU PULL ON THE LINE IT BOUNCES AROUND AND REALLY LOOKS LIKE A DUCK FEEDING, RINGS AND ALL. WORKS PRETTY GOOD ON THOSE CALM DAYS.

I used to do a fair amount of trout fishing and some hunting in that area.
I think the owners then were Susy and Mark, does that sound right?
    cheers
