Hey guys we just got a different duck boat now for this fall but the only issue is no duck blind on it yet….just curious how many of you guys actually hunt out of the boat for ducks and use a blind…we had one before on the last one but it seemed like we usually just parked the boat a way away and wadded around in the weeds or tucked up in shore and did our thing on the quackers….what you guys think buy one or not…

I’m curious too, I’ve been looking at

Mud Buddy’s – Look pretty nice, popular reviews
Avery – Look nice, priced right through Macks, sound like the hardest to install
Beavertail – Higher priced, simple to install, I like the design
Gooseview – Look nice, priced pretty good
Cabela’s – priced the best, don’t think you can put a rain or top on one from the factory, just open
    PopUp – Iowa – GREAT – but $$$$$$$

I’m open to thoughts, especially since I have an Alaskan vs. Jon!!! Wish I could see one, maybe these guys should hit the spring boat shows!

Most of them are actually at Game Fair each year in Anoka.
I spent close to three years making my decision this way.
Somebody gave me some good advice that I will pass along.
Like most of us, this persons had built several home-made blinds that worked fine, although they always lack something. This person rationalized to me that a good quality blind/boat that is properly maintained will last for 10-20 years. Spend as much as you can now and enjoy it for a long time.
I purchased a custom made Pop-Up when they were still out of Nebraska, about 7 years ago. These things are cool as heck.
My Alumacraft fishing boat is 17′ long, has a flat floor and pedestal seats, typical dry storage, 50 hp tiller, 24 volt trolling motors front and back, completely wired for lights and accessories, obviously a very basic fishing boat.
But, add a custom fit blind that is your choice of camo, completely windproof and waterproof. Now include 2 buddy heaters and stow your heavy hunting jackets in the dry storage areas. The spring loaded, retractable roof opens via a foot pedal. you are completely concealed and likely to stay out in weather than previously would have chased you back indoors. This is when the quality shooting takes place.
Thanks alot guys, now my juices are flowing
    cheers
