Early season reports!

OK… It’s one week out and time to get this thing rolling!

Drake just reactivated the Migration report from last year and I am looking for some early goose reports!

I began souting the area from Montrose to Buffalo and west to waverly and Annandale. The recent rain has greened up the feed corn so my thoughts of an early corn Harvest are probably on the back burner. But it looks as thought the grain harvest has begun and many fields have been cut! Look for water near cut wheat and you will find birds. This year will mostlikely be no different from years past.

I am seeing birds moving out of the fields mid morning and back at dusk. The heat of the day still has them pinned down on the water. So there should be opprotunities for those with and without fields.

Any one else been scouting? OK.. Any one that is willing to share been scouting?

The birds have been coming over my house in droves out in East Bethel. My place backs up to the Neds, Mud, and Deer lake chain of swamps. Thinking about just sitting on the roof with a tennis racket…

made the tour this morning——3 of 6 huntable fields had birds, no huge numbers but smaller groups of 12-45 i did notice other birds in the air and on the move around 9ish. at 11:45 13 flew over the house. my neighbors must think theres a flock in my house

Things are looking like its going to be a quick morning hunt for our group. Last year 40 in a half hour. Should be about the same this year.
