Lars. The Big River is really one of the best flute calls. The old Maple ones are the best sounding. The only thing is, they take way to much air. I agree, short reeds with a Big River in the mix is great.

I have been using on of those “Illusions” short reed goose calls and I think it has been great. I am not even sure who makes it. Only about a $30 call, but good range and doesn’t take that much air. My brother still uses one of the big river flutes. I have to laugh at him sometimes when he is set up across the swamp and tries to compete with someone hammering away on a short reed. The short reed wins 90% of the time.
Hopefully, I get my Tucko duck call in the mail today. I am excited to try it out.
